I am appalled at the so-called customer service had online via emails. The number of times they do not actually address my questions, concerns, or statements, but instead, respond with what is clearly a default form reply is beyond belief.

When I reply to those pointing out obvious inconsistent information or whatnot, and thereby, request clarity, they literally copy and paste the EXACT same pointless default they sent prior. And for one issue, this was done several times, exact same response copied and pasted multiple times in a row! Nobody is actually reading my messages, or perhaps, they do and are simply incredibly lazy and uncaring. Whats even more disconcerting is that I have banked with them for decades now, have never been in default, and when I was recently scammed in NY whilst on holiday last summer, they took the false statements of the scammer over my own and awarded him the money!

I couldnt believe it.

We are talking about $127.30 that would barely be a drop, if at all, in the bucket for them, but hard-earned cash for me. Chase customer service used to be stellar, but in the past few years, it would seem, its become overrun by punks who have no clue what the meaning of respect, loyalty, and service actually is.

If after this much time, if they have not addressed the issue, you need to file a complaint with an agency such as BBB, attorney general or FDIC. Take it from me. Had I not gotten pushy about it nothing would have happened.

nicole c Oen

You can file a police report but do not expect the police to get involved. They do not get involved in cases of fraud or identity theft.

They will tell you it is a civil matter. Can file a case in small claims court but may not be worth it considering the filing fees and missed time at work

Guest

Did you file a police report? What did the supposed fraud entail?

Non delivery of goods? Of a service?

Chase Bank - I was Discriminated, Disrespected, Humiliated, Embarrassed, and Looked at as...

I went to the bank to get some few thousands of dollars to buy a car that I needed to go to work, and The Lady told me she didn't have 20k in the bank. I was confused of what she had just told me because I had my money with them and if they don't have it who would be given me my cash?' I repeated myself that I need the cash ,he told me to come back on Monday.

So I went back wasted time, to going back to the bank, and then another Lady told me she can only give me 10k and a Cashier Check. I said it was ok because I didn't have more time to go back and for to the bank, and they were mad because of me asking them for that much cash witch is sounds stupid to me, do to they are the bank. But I didn't want to feel like I was bother them, so I went to another branch on my way to work, and this is where it was even much worse ever. I had never being discriminated in my life and feel so embarrassing, weird, mad, and even scare many feeling mix, when the two lady team up asking me probing questions about why i had a cashier check, and told her the Lady from the bank 10 minutes away from them gave it to me because she didn't have nenoughash in the bank, and she started comments with her other rep in from of me, turning around and asking me for my ID, Debit Card, and why would I need this much money, and force me to take off my Mask because she didn't feel constable give me that much money she said.

I was feeling sick and didn;t want to take of the mask and they were lots of people in the bank and I didnt want for her to continue with her detective questionary and took my mask and she then said she would make a call to get a prove to cash the check, and told me to go sit down while she was doing this, but right around the wall were the sit and i can hear them saying stupid things like, no one like me walks around with a check for that much and also why would i come to the bank wearing a mask. I did't said anything but I didn't know how to deal with so many things in my mind on why she didn't believe that the check was legit and I even told her to call the other branch, but she said she knew what she was doing and told me if I wanted to come back another day? I told her no I understand I just have to go to work so let me know? 12 minutes passed by and i continue them just talking crazy stuff and got up and told her to give me my check and ID, and card and they woman, was of course you will".

I Don't know if those bank got audio but I want to sue this bank because the same thing happen with customer services that end up sending a letter about them closing my account do to i was calling them and ask for them to get my money back for some purchase I didn't get my money from and they thought i was lying but I keep calling them and asking for help but they were asking for some paper work for it and didn't have do to the purchase were on a casino site. so went to deal with this people myself witch is the money that got deposit to my account and the one I was trying to get in the bank. I got myself and they didn't believe me and for that I got a letter that they were closing my account in 30 days, just because this bastards didn't believe in me and they like I was asking them to help me get those charges back.

So my account will be close in a few days from those 30 days they gave me and I still got one of their checks that I'm planning to go look for another branch and hopefully they will have cash in the bank and better customer services and be threat like a customer not a robber. ps: any recommendation to sue them for this?

Predatory Lending - Fraudulent Practices - Fraudulent Interest Charges

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Chase mortgage operated criminally during the 2008 crash and continues to operate criminally / fraudulently to this day. I have paid well over $100,000 in interest that Chase has illegally been overcharging me and is a violation of my mortgage terms.

When I write and confront them requesting corrections, Chase denies and sends out falsified documents this year of a modification to my mortgage that never occurred. This is just one example of their fraud - their offenses are far too many to list here but the State of MN sued Chase for predatory lending and won. I believe 25 million was the settlement and part of the evidence to win was documentation from my case.

The State of MN gets 25 million dollars and how much of that money do you suppose reimbursed consumers who had been fleeced of millions or worse their homes - NONE ! Chase is still committing violations of the law and lender regulations against me to this day and as they refuse to correct the problem the only option is to incur thousand of more dollars in legal fees to sue them for their violations of the law.

On the 29th of January a suspicious person tried to gain access to my account by phone. The same thing occurred twice on February 7th.

At that point 12 days had gone by, and I did not receive a notification of this action from Chase. On the 7th of February, I received a text and notification from Chase with a pin code for access to my account. Since I did not perform this action, I called chase. I had my online account shut down and removed my email address.

As is the norm, I was unable to reach the branch by phone so I started emailing people. I finally receive a call from my private client advisor, I explain the situation and I ask him to put me in touch with the branch manager Issac. I spoke with Issac, I don't believe he looked at my account because he gave me some bad information explaining that my computer was compromised. He advised me to get my computer scanned by a professional.

I explained that my account stated the attempt was made by phone, but he ignored that information. He then stated he was going to file a complaint, and I should have results within a week. I took my computer to a specialist, had it scanned for malware, and it was clean, no malware. That cost me half a day and about 100 dollars.

I got a call from the alleged escalation division of the executive branch, and they gave contradictory information from everyone else I spoke to at the branch and on the phone. They were unable to provide me with information that would assure me they were from Chase. I emailed my private client banker, and he let me know that Issac had it for action and would let me know if that call came from the executive branch. I have not received any information.

I then drive to the branch to reactivate my online account and update my email address. While there, I ask about Issac, he is on vacation.

After a week, I contacted my private client banker by email, and he reminded Issac to follow up with me. I still have not heard from him.

Trying to make a simple online transaction, everything entered correctly, I have tracking of IP Address, tracking of phone and messages, make phone calls and verify all information. I go to the branch and show ID for the transaction, and they still do not allow me to complete a normal transaction.

This is censorship of people using their own money and their own banking accounts. In the future, they possibly won't even allow people to have or retrieve their own money.

Scammed

I was scammed in December, I was applying for a loan online. Was qualified for a 3000 $.

So I filled out the information they asked for. Bank info, SS, driver's license. This happened on a Friday afternoon between 4&5 pm.

I had no idea that they went and filed reversels on back rent payments of 499.$ when they didn't deposit the loan I went to the bank and reported it. Now they are holding me responsible for 1900$ that the scammer got..

I called immediately called Zelle thru said call to your bank then I called customer service but they were not able to help but they open a new issue for Complaint and told me we will send you a decision within a few days

I was not very happy with that.

I contacted my own vendor directly, and they were able to return my fund back to my account

I am so surprised with this Zelle transfer and receiving fund they should have some hold time

Idiots not paying attention to who/where they're sending money via Zelle is the reason they ask if you're sure you want to do this. IF you went beyond that message without confirming and sent money, you're stupid.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Provided evidence of money owed with documentation since the only way a bank will assist in helping you get money back is to provide paperwork. My advise is to hold onto paperwork from a bank especially one you are having issues with.

Original review Mar 26, 2024
I used to have a checking and savings account with this bank 2 1/2 years ago. Both accounts were closed but they did not give me all of the funds in both accounts.

Amount in both accounts was 39,340.88 but they only gave me 33,385.29 as a cashier's check. I spoke with the same rep several times who told me I would be getting the 5,955.59 back but then told me the reason I did not receive this check was because I owed them 4,350. This amount was taken out when the savings account was closed. I complained to the CFPB and the executive response was that it was reported in error and this would be fixed.

But then told me they had no record of owing me 5,955.59 even though I submitted the accounts statements and cashier's check receipt and they had the nerve to tell me they did not owe me 5,955.59. I have spoken with several reps via the phone since I could not visit the branch any longer due to my work hours conflicting with their hours and not being able to speak about it with someone over the weekend. If I truly owed them money, they never would have authorized a fraudulent credit card in my name for 13,000. The process of dealing with the identity theft with this bank was just as much of a pain and it took me being a pain in the *** to get them to resolve the fraudulent credit card.

Despite many complaints to many organizations such as the BBB, Attorney general and others, I am still not getting anywhere with getting back the 5,955.59. This has been going on for 2 1/2 years. A bank should not get to hold onto your money that long despite the reason.

Attached are images of these statements due to the personal information on these documents. (address, account numbers, etc)

Not to mentiion that in response to the fraudulent credit card, I never received the initial letter dated February 13 which would have changed everything and not made me involve my restoration agent in the conference call in march. I figured if you will drag your feet on giving me the almost 6,000 you owed me that the fraudulent credit card claim would be no different.

And because I ended up getting a bill for that credit card which I blatantly refused to pay because I did not apply for the cc, that made me get pushy about it as well. They want to make me feel bad because I was pushy about both issues but I did what I had to do. Most people would have done the same had they been in my shoes. Then, they keep making a big deal about closing the accounts.

I did not care about that. Only that I was not there when it happened. I would have closed the accounts had they not.

My hope is that the cashier's check clears and that I can move on. Rest assured, I will never do business with this bank ever again.

nicole c Oen

I made complaints with all of those organizations. They finally sent me a check for this amount but made the excuse that the money was on hold due to investigation.

2 years?

Really? From my understanding, it should not take longer that 6 months.

Guest

i would make a complaint with the fdic, better business burea and state aorneys office

Guest

i tried to do that several times. It did not work.

Plus I just started the new job and it takes 2 years before you can take off work to build up paid time off. I was in the 90 day probation period at my new job so therefore I could not take off work to deal with it.

I made many many phone calls and filed complaints with several organizations who keep giving to chase to deal with who wlll not deal with it. If a lawyer would represent me, this could go before a 3rd party (judge) to deal with.

Guest

I think for almost $6,000 you needed to take a day off work in the past two years and went in to a branch location.

Chase bank has not been concerned with helping us through this problem

Original review May 13, 2024
I am an IHSS caregiver. I received nine checks of back pay for my recipient who was at the time a Chase customer.

My daughter passed away in Colorado, and I live in California. I received these checks while not having a bank account. My recipient offered her account to cash my checks to avoid the high interest of a check cashing store. We deposited four checks through the ATM on Friday, and on Monday we went into the bank to deposit two more so I could go home for my daughter's services.

The teller accepted the checks and said the funds would be available the next day, which was acceptable. However, overnight Chase placed a fraud alert and closed my recipients' account. The checks were written by the California state comptroller and were easily verifiable. My identity itself was also easily verifiable by ID, drivers license, and the state-issued provider number.

Chase demanded my phone number, which goes directly to me through the public record. However, I didn't have the required phone number because I was on a family plan where I wasn't the primary account holder. I was forced to get a new service with AT&T. I didn't want the service and couldn't afford it either.

Nonetheless, it has been over a month, and Chase, who cashed the checks, refuses to release the money because they claim my phone number is not on the public record so they can't verify my identity. Since when does a phone number outweigh your state ID and social security number for identification? Not only that, my recipient's bank account has been closed, and her SSDI direct deposit returned making her delinquent on her car payment, insurance, and registration. I also couldn't attend my daughter's services or join my family in mourning.

Presently, I have lost my insurance and had my commercial driver's license permit revoked because I can't pay my SR22 insurance. Even though I'm supposed to start truck driving school this week, I can't because I'm waiting for Chase to verify my identity through a public record, despite having a government-issued ID. This practice violates the federal government's own methods to identify its people and has deprived me, my recipient, and my family of more than just my deposit. I wasn't notified about any of these possibilities before making the deposit.

Isn't the bank supposed to be the safest place to deal with financial matters? 'Chase' is true to its name as I've had to chase them for my money for over a month now, and they won't even talk to me because I don't have an account. Neither does my recipient anymore. Why did they cash the checks if they thought they were fraudulent?

It seems like the bank is profiting off the money while denying me access to my funds and closing my recipient's account without merit. Chase's policy is unfair and only protects its own interest while profiting off its victims.

Horrible practice! Deposit of $3,662.94.
