I had a balance of $23,000 after paying several large medical bills and taxes.

I made an electronic payment on the 15th (due date) for $2000. 2 days later (before the statement date on the 18th), I paid another $18,000 when I was sure the funds were in my bank account to cover the payment.

Chase applied only a portion of the payment, held my payment for 10 days, and applied the second payment payment to the lowest interest first. (My Cash advance balance was $5000) When all was said and done, they kept my cash advance balance at $3000.

When I called customer service, and also had it "escalated" the person told me that they discourage consumers from using their card for cash advances and did nothing for me. Chase sux.
