Purposefully confusing to charge you

Chase Bank - Purposefully confusing to charge you

I'm going around and around with a customer service rep right now.

I select to pay my card off in full, charges from the last 3 weeks are NOT included. Now charges from August and September will be on the same statement.

It doesn't make any sense.

Also found, every notification in my account was turned off. This includes payment reminders and notifications of late bills.

Reminder from above, unless you check your account religiously, you might have carry over charges from the last month that you didn't think you existed because you chose to pay your card off in full.

Why would those specific notifications even be able to be turned off? Are they automatically off for every customer and they manually have to turn them on.

Seems clear to me, unlike every other bank I've ever dealt with, they go out of their way to make their system as confusing as possible to parasitically charge you fees.

Preferred solution: I want them to have more regulations from the federal government about providing a clear system people can follow easily, instead of sneaky nonsense.

User's recommendation: This back tries to bleed stones, don't trust their integrity, they are not your friend. Other banks are though.

They operate this way on purpose to keep the money in their pocket. Remember as one rep told me "It's not about protecting the customer. It's about protecting the bank." Even if it means cheating others out of their money

And your point is what? This is an easy answer that only an idiot wouldn't understand.

Perhaps that's why you're here whining. Do not have children if this is the best you can do.

Rip-off and inferior customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been using the Chase Sapphire Preferred and IHG Reward cards for a few years now and I'm cancelling both today despite taking a hit in the credit score. I had to make a total of 8 phone calls over the course of 3.5 months to get two airplane tickets canceled and refunded.

The refund for the second ticket is still not done. These people WON'T do anything until you call and remind them of their job. Every time I called, someone always "forgot" to do something the last time.

Also if you need to switch flights (happened to me TWICE), their prices are ALWAYS $100-$200 higher than the prices you see on Google Flights. Complete rip-off and sub-standard customer service.

People used to care about delivering great customer service. Now after COVID especially, the workforce is lazy.

People no longer care about doing their job and doing it right and businesses are not holding people accountable. Too many costly mistakes are being made at this business and nobody is doing anything about it. Mistake one: incorrect amount for the cashier's check. Should have been 39.340.88 not 33,385.29.

2nd: tried to say I owed them 4,350 when that amount was deducted at the amount of account closing. 3rd Mistake: someone opened a fraudulent credit card at this bank in my name and tried to bill me 12,172.40 by sending me a statement for that amount via email a month after I reported the card as fraudulent.

Chase places hardships on customers even though it is Chase's fault

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Chase has stated they are behind in processing payments, and will tell you they have not received your check, even though they do have the check. Then they charge a late fee when the due date passes.

Once they find your check (which they had all along), they then will credit the late fee. Of the customer doesn't want to be in arrears, they must immediately make another payment, which causes two payments to be made once Chase finds and posts your check payment.

This is an undue hardship on the customer, who may not have the money to make two payments. Chase admits they are behind in processing payments, but makes no concessions for their inept posting process.

We had a fraudulent claim on our ATM card and as a result had to have my wife's card replaced. After the "investigative" branch of Chase received information from that company's scam claim, Chase paid them without speaking to us about what had happened. You would think after 30 years of doing business with Chase they might have spoken to us first before paying this scam company.

I don't think anybody can have to have a bank account but that bank if the check is drawn on that bank it's bullshiting and it's another way of just trying to get people to you have them have an account at your bank I don't care if they make it policy or not but it should not be allowed to turn down a customer cuz if they don't have a bank account

Couldn't get my promotional money despite endless CHASE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Jun 11, 2022

Despite hectic chasing no outcome as yet, local branch banker MR Michael Valbuena is nonresponsive and no senior officer in the bank want to question him for not doing.

Original review Jun 11, 2022
My experience with CHASE BANK is very bad. On 06/12/2021, I had received an email from Chase Bank having a promotional offer of $ 400.00 for opening a Business Complete Checking account up to 01/06/22 and Chase bank had sent me a brochure having code #: GP272477CLH2YKE, which narrates that $ 400 will be transferred to our account after 3 months with qualifying activities.

Consequent upon this offer, we opened on 05/27/2021 a business account at Sherman TX branch in the name of CVS Hospitality LLC, having Account # ending with last 4 digit 0650. Mr. Michael Valbuena was the Relationship Banker, who opened this account, and we gave him this code. We fulfilled all requisite conditions and waited for more than 4 months of opening the account but till date, did not get our promotional money.

We telephonically contacted the bank, and they informed that branch banker has not registered our promotion code in the system. Since it was an internal matter of the bank and their employee, we sent a formal complaint on the Banks communication system of secure message and Alma, replied on 05/10/2022 that our account is not registered under any promotional offer and asked us to contact the branch. We again requested them to verify it from Mr. Michael Valbuena, their banker at Sherman branch.

But on 05/13/2022 Jonathan, again replied that our account is not registered in any award and insisted us to meet the banker at branch. As insisted by Jonathan, we had scheduled a meeting with Michael at Sherman branch on 05/16/2022 at 12.00 PM through online, but at 11.30 AM on 05/16 we received a phone from Michael asking about the reason for the meeting, and when explained, he asked us to send the code and assured us that he will apply, and we need not to go there. We sent him the promotion code through our email dt 05/16/2022, and again reminded him on 05/26/2022 but he has not applied the code, as yet, despite our pursuance and his own reassurance through his email dt 05/26/2022, to do so. We again approached the bank and informed the situation through our note dt 05/30/22, to which Kristina replied: Chhater, we apologize about the coupon code that hasn't been applied on your account yet.

We sent your information about the cash bonus that was not applied on your account to Michael, so they can help you and give an update about the cash bonus offer. You will be contacted within two to three business days. Thank you for your feedback. We will share it with the appropriate team.
We again reminded them on 05/31/2022 & 06/07/2022, and finally, on 06/08/2022, Alex, informed that unfortunately we are unable to check the status of your complaint about cash bonus that was not added through this platform and again asked me to contact the branch where the account is opened to determine the resolution for this matter
From the above, it could be seen that we have been made shuttle *** between Chase Bank and Michael.

No one is listening to us and applying the promotion code and we are feeling deceived. It appears that the Bank dont want to give us our right full money despite our tremendous CHASE.

Signed up in person at Chase Bank at. Vanderbilt TD. In Naples Fl. Showed coupon to A Nicole and she said the money would come in 90 days as long as I had 2 direct deposits. Which I do. Went to see her and she says she always puts the coupon no in my folder. Wasnt there. She says there is nothing to can do then because she has been doing this for 30 years and she never makes a mistake. So I guess I am not getting the coupon bonus I opened the checking account for.
