Chase Bank in Riverdale, Georgia - Pay off my deceased mother's mortage

My mother died in 2015 informed Chase Bank was notified I am not responsible for the mortgage on the house and instead of sending me a paid in full receipt I have to pay the mortgage on the house. I have not been able to get a paid in full receipt from Chase I talked to seven to eight different customer service representative to no avail.

Are you serious?!? So, they said YOU'RE not responsible, did they say it was paid off before or just after her passing?

If so, great.

If not just because YOU don't owe the mortgage doesn't mean the balance isn't owed. Rather than posting here, you probably should get an attorney as soon as possible before the bank comes after the property.

Chase Bank - Leaving after 30 years.....never to return

it seems this bank will go out of its way to cause problems for their own customers.....they change rules and operations all the time making it harder to do business ..... their machines rarely work... when they do they do not have much money.... the lines are very long for the past year.... i guess they are cutting back and now they want the customer to know by heart all their account numbers or they can not give them money or deposit money.....imagine that........ last straw

Chase Bank - Offshore people can not be understood

Was on hold almost 30 minutes and transfered to 5 different people all with heavy accents. When i told them i could not understand them all 5 *** turned up the volume on their headsets as if thats going to make me understand their accents.

The day after my message appeared on pissed consumer, Chase managed to straighten out my accounts. They didn't notify my, they just fixed the problems. Thank you so much for your help.

Chase service has really gotten bad. Their supervisors are rude and don't do their job - customer service. When you go inside the branch, half the time the employees there are chit-chatting but not willing to help you. They charge so many fees and are eager to take your money but are charging a lot more than other banks and making mistakes and charging you for it! One mistake is forgivable but repeated mistakes and no effort to fix it - this bank should be audited. They boast they are the biggest bank and hence the best. Biggest does not mean best. I have been with them many years and disappointed by the terrible service, and the ways they try to sell you on things you don't need. Terrible service!

If the biggest problem you had this day was a woman with her two dogs inside a bank - so much so, that you felt the need to type up that ridiculous narrative - it's safe to say you have bigger issues to deal with. Handle those.

See a shrink. Be nice to dogs.

Carry an epipen. Also, if sharing the same air as a dog has the potential to kill you, mayyyyyybe you should look into Darwinism

If someone said that it has to go through probate, that's probably the correct one based on my experience. At this point, is "several dollar" worth the effort, money and time to get out if this change that's been sitting in an account for 2 years?

If it is, go the probate route, show up with the admin forms and death certificate. They'll start an estate account that you can do with as you please including withdrawing the money.

Yes, it took as a trip to a larger branch to get the straight *** on the situation. When dealing with big banks, go to the largest branch.
