Chase Bank - AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have a business account with Chase for several years. Recently my checking account was compromised thru my debit card with some fraudulent charges.
At the time I was away on holidays out of the country. I immediately contacted Chase and notified them of unauthorized charges to my account. However, they did not cancel my debit card and the charges continued for almost 10,000 $US . As soon as I arrived in the United States, I went to a local branch, they could not take care of me and I had to do all the complaints by phone, for days I've been coming and going, talking to several persons on the Fraud Department, and no solution has been made.
There is no customer service at all, the employees do not know the process or have any concrete answers for you. The disputed charges have not been credited to my account. I reported it on January 5th and it is January 11 and the only answer I get is that it has to go thru an investigation. I'm aware of similar cases and " other banks credit you immediately while the investigation takes place".
It is awful that my money has not been returned; even though Chase was aware I was out of the country and even so they did not cancel my card when reported. The bank is supposed to assist you and help you. We trust you with our money to take care of it not to make it available without authorization. All claims like these should be solved within 24 to 48 hours.
This is a business and everyday that goes by, it is a loss for my business until this is solved. My case No.

You have encountered a major reason for not using a debit card. Once your money is gone, you are at the mercy of the bank to refund it, if they do so at all.
With a credit card, however you are not responsible for fraudulent charges and your money has gone nowhere.
