Chase bank just screwed us long time customers

Buh bye Chase. Here is what I told JP Morgan Chase at every site I could find. I have had my Chase accounts for over 40 years. The main reason I keep my accounts and my invstments in Chase was the overdraft protection account. I have been notified that this service will be discontinued and I will be charged exorbitant fees for a minor overdraft. In the next week I will be moving my investments and my accounts elsewhere since the greed of Chase has finally gotten to be too much. I will also be closing my credit card accounts with Chase. In the last few years, Chase has decided to move their branches to other than street level and then they are now moving them all down to expensive street level offices. Since this rediculous moving has evidently cost so much that Chase now feels the need to punish their long term customers, I will no longer be one of them, Thank you, geniuses. If you are middle class, Chase loves your money but hates you.

What I did was keep my investment in Chase, thus avoiding fees. I keep my small pension going there as a direxct deposit and it keeps my accounts open.

I use the checking account for IRA withdrawals and pay no fees whatsoever and it costs Chase $$$ to keep my accounts open. Chase no longer makes money off my overdraft interest since there is none. The "cathedral" they built across the street can only be descibed as a monument to greed.

Hundreds of square feet of totally empty space designed to impress. Chase just plain sucks!

I've had my Chase account for 41 years, and, yes, I was told the OVERDRAFT RESERVE is no longer a service provided by Chase. As with the experience of the customer above, the provision of the OVERDRAFT RESERVE was the main reason for keeping the Chase checking account - aside from simple inertia.

I did not use this service often, but it was very helpful at critical times in my life. I could take this move by Chase as a way to punish people with accounts that fluctuate or do not have the same level of balance as was the case a few years ago. I tried to get an answer as to why this service was discontinued - and got none. Were they losing money on it.

I don't think so. When I used the OVERDRAFT RESERVE I paid an interest charge like any other loan. Were they getting the maximum from a situation which was critical to their customer - probably not.

So Chase decides to find yet another way to improve their bottom line instead of having good business practices and avoiding all of the fines they have had to pay recently for carrying out bad business practices.

At 72 years of age, one should not have to think abouot moving bank accounts - but that is now a definite option I am considering.

Today is April 24, 2014 I am 78 years of age, retired and live on my savings, no pension. My complaint number 02980847 to the Office of the Comptroller of the Corrency will take two months to resolve. Get a Chase Bank account and enjoy bankruptcy No written response by Chase to my inquiries. I have been lied to by a woman from their executive office New York. I will not have any phone conversations with Chase employees and they do notrespond in writing.

Chase Bank Account

Chase Bank in Des Moines, Iowa - They closed my account with me out of town with no money.

I opened a Chase bank account last week with $6,500. I told them I was going out of town next week and needed a debit card. I was told that they did not give temp cards and that mine would be in the mail. I explained that I would need a way to access my funds, so they gave me an ATM card. Once I was out of town I went to get some cash from the ATM and was declined with the message to call my bank. When I did call, I was told that my account was closed after a review and the decision was final.... No other explanation. I was also told that my funds would be sent by check in the mail after 10 business days. Now I am stuck half way around the country with no money at all. Thanks Chase!

Chase doesn't just close out an account for no reason whatsoever. No bank gives out temporary cards.

What world do you live on? Let's put it this way....what Ricochet Rabbit said and then some. You're the *** who decided to travel without any cash in pocket and without trying out your debit card. Glad you were left stranded.

Serves you right.

BTW, I bet with your "demanding" a card, someone purposely screwed you at the bank. Ha ha!!!

Leave town with no cash (or backup cards) and then wait until you're halfway across the county to test out the new debit card.

Pure genius! :grin

Chase Bank in Kenner, Louisiana - Disrespected

Complete your Review Step 1 Find a Bank or Business Step 2 Write a Review Step 3 Preview & Post Edit Your Name reviewed Chase Apr 12, 2014 2 out of 5 marks Disrespectiful I was in branch 000232 in Kenner La ,and was in disbelief at the branch manager's behavior. A customer was trying to pay her bills, and the branch manager Eric was mocking her, and walked to a chase representive and started gossiping about her if though she was standing there. The lady looked at him because she knew he was gossiping about her, and then he proceeded towards another customer that he apparently knew and began gossiping about this lady, and when the customer looked at him, he started pointing to the ceiling, and he and the customer he knew began to laugh. If their is no supervision in a major corporation like Chase Bank, the next thing you know they will be sitting around sipping tea on the countertop. I'm posting this because no matter where we are in the world we all respond the same way when someone is being disrespected to the degree that they are defenseless, bullied, and mocked for no reason just because some *** has decided to misuse his power in the work place.

I find this "complaint" very hard to believe. I have been to this Chase Bank several times and have recommended several people to this bank and they have nothing but positive things to say about their experience with all employees at this bank, including the manager.

How can you guarantee that the manager was indeed talking about this lady and mocking her like you are stating he did? Did you hear the exact comments he supposedly made about this customer or are you just assuming that this is what went on? Your so called complaint seems more like false accusations. If the customer who supposedly was, in your words "mocked and bullied", didn't complain, then why are you complaining???

Seems to me like you're a bit dramatic.

I work in a customer service setting and know firsthand that some people often misinterpret things and accuse others without having valid evidence, and this seems to be the case here. If I had to take a guess here, my guess would be that your complaint goes beyond defending this "defenseless customer." Perhaps you just don't like Eric and are simply trying to make him look bad?

Chase Bank - Ridiculous & Doesn't Work!!

You have to create a profile to obtain the funds, and if you are not a Chase customer they have to verify your external bank account. I figured, Fine..that makes sense. However, it took me almost 30 minutes just to get past the create a password screen! I followed the instructions, but it wouldn't accept anything! Finally, I created a password the system would accept. Then I spent another 30 minutes trying to verify my external bank account. I tried to set up another profile under my middle name, but you have to process the request under the email address the funds are sent to. So I close out and try logging in under my first profile, but it's not recognizing the first password I created! I had to go through the process of re-setting my password, and I finally get to the verify external account screen again. I tried updating my security questions on my external account to match the Chase profile, but the Chase questions are completely different than what my bank asks! The only other verify option is to wait 2-3 days where they jack around with your account, making 2 deposits and then a withdrawal?? Hello, I need the money now! That was the whole point!! Now I have to call them tomorrow and hopefully get help getting this entirely idiotic process straightened out. THIS is precisely why I never bank with Chase, their "convenient" methods are so predictably convoluted.

I am very shocked to read a post like this about Chase Bank.I use online Quickpay every month to have my house payment deducted from my checking account and I have never had a problem with the house payment being deducted from my checking account.Nor did i have a problem sitting up a password for this Quickpay withdrawal.I am sure you are aware that your password is case sensitive so know one else can go into your online QUICKpay account without the proper password. You should be greatful for this extra measure because if someone should get into your Quickpay account then what,You would have a larger problem than you supposely have at this moment. Some people are never satisfied know matter what precaution's are used to protect them and Their money.

@***nie

Reread my post before you preach with your assumptions. You know nothing about me, or my security preferences.

CHASE's system wasn't accepting passwords I tried creating using THEIR guidelines. And it was only moments between logging out, I didn't forget the password in that time.

Just because you have always had an easy experience with Chase does not mean the rest of the world will as well.

Clearly you're having trouble translating my post. Let me repeat it for you...

I followed Chase's guidelines to set up the password each time. Does that make it easier for you?

Chase Bank - Cancel card due to PUBLIC information used for authentication!

I called about a letter I received my REPLACEMENT card. I did order a card for my wife and when I called to clarify this was her card I was asked a bunch of AUTHENTICATION questions that I didn't know the answer to. I was told they use PUBLIC information! Chase uses public information found on the web to authenticate customers when they call in. I was asked about places I believe my ex-wife lived. This is the PUBLIC information you can find by paying $5. I WAS A CHASE CUSTOMER but I DIDN'T KNOW the answers to all the places they claimed I use to live. Someone PHISHING would be able to answer the authentication questions better than me! Note when I canceled my card my 12000 miles for that month went with it.
