Mandatory license scan

Every time I go into Chase Bank to make a car payment, they insist on scanning my drivers license. I do not believe they have a right to do that. I am told that I might be laundering money!!!!! As a former federal officer I am highly offended by their remarks, and my drivers license has a lot of information they do not need to know!! Not even a police officer can demand to scan your drivers license arbitrarily without reason!! Where are they sending this information??!!!!!!!!!!!! Pissed off consumer!! Not a good way to hold on to customers!!

10/10 Tellers don't really care about your ID, they're just following the rules.

In every branch there should be a sign stating some transaction may require photo ID's.

If you go to their website and spend a few seconds you can find it in their policy.

Here ya go.

Chase Bank Banking Service Review from Discovery Bay, California

Your ATMs could be better, deposit wise! With the cash deposit through the ATM it's a pain when it doesn't read, usually 97% of the time, dispensing the money back out 3x before just finally saying forget it!!!! It's time consuming and horrible if you're alone depositing money wanting to just quickly make a deposit and it just keeps spitting it back out. It's bad enough people get robbed just leaving the bank, but stuck there at the ATM because you're refusing my money? Much of an annoyance. And forget going into the bank with long horrible lines! I'd hate to admit that I actually miss the deposit envelopes!

Chase quck pay completely skrewed me!!! About 5 days ago i signed up for chase quick pay to recive money from an craigslist sale from the buyer accross the country, he also has chase and because i dident know him i figured this would be the best options to protect myself and not give out my banking information or and private info (chase quick pay only requires an email adress). So we disided to do a transaction of $500 each day for three days every time i accepted the money was put in my account and i pulled it out. It wasent until the following day that i went to pay for gas with my card that it declined and i couldent understand why. So i checked my online banking with chase and my account was negitive over $800 and so i went to chase right away and they said that the buyer/person who sent me the money that i had already accepted disided to retract his payments and that i had ti get in contact with him to sort it out, at this time my account was still open and the transactions including the deposits were showing up in tge chase system. I was livid and the buyer would nit answer his phone or pick up his emails. He seemed to be avoiding me. I also new that i had a paycheck scheduled to deposit at midnight, and i dident want it to get cought up into this mess so i had asked them to eaither deposit it into a different account or put a hold on it they said sorry nothing they could do about any of this and try containg my emloyer, which i did and tgey also said there was nothibg they could do. So my hard earned paycheck went to pay a debt i dont even owe. Also chase had charged me for the declined transaction that had happened when i had gone to get gas, even tho i couldent recive my product. The next day i went into chase again my account was still open but they were claiming that the money was never deposited into the account and that i had just over drawn my account with two withrawls of $500, i told them i had the email recits proving the deposited money through quick pay but they refusef to look and said since it waseng in there system they couldent help me i even demanded to talk to the manager who said to just call the number aswell. Wheb i of course called the number they said that my accounts have been frozen and are no longer accsesable that includes my uninvolved savings accout that would have been my emergency money to use for my bills in a situation but no its all gone to chase for some reason, they wouldent explain anything and said that in ten days i coyld recive a check in tge mail if there was money in my accounts but wouldent say if the funds had been retuned to the account, i asked if i could be contacted when things were sorted they said that wouldent happen and that they would mark that they talked with me reguarding the situation and it had been worked out i asked them not to do that because for me it had not been resolved i lost about $1000 have no money to pay bills abd no clarity about what happend. I have all the records and prof of what i did and what the bank did altho no one will look at them or hear me out, everyone has been vauge or referd me to someone else. I recomend not useing chase and if anyone has advice for me i would love some help. Thank you

HI have three Chase account. I have been using the same brach for 18 years. I traied to get a mortgage, was a night mare process, after I paid for the process, I let it go and when to other bank, no problem. ON the last years, it ha been a problem to make deposit to my account and my mother account. Even, try to close my three account and they gave me a problem. I can not make cash deposit to my account or may mother account. One of the rep. tall me because of drug problem. They think you are a drug smuggler. It is a pain in the but to use US currency and make a cash deposit in your our account. They ask you to many question and need an ID to make deposits. To many *** regulations.

This has nothing to do with chase personally. It's federal regulations and has been this way for two years now.

Get a money order or check. Or have your son deposit it himself.!

Chase is horrible! I am always having issues with my account and the website. They never take purchases off my account when I make them, it's always days later which always offsets my balance. I will think I have one amount but it's a completely different amount bcus of the pending thing taking days later or they just take it out when they want. Not to mention the issue with my deposits. I deposited money and it jus disappeared, on my account it showed that it was never there. I called and they told me that there's nothing there and I had to speak to somebody! I was furious, YOUR company made this mistake. In the end I was told they found it but it wasn't showing in my account bcus of a glitch in the system (how convenient) and if it doesn't show up in a day to call back and make a claim. Eventually it showed up bcus my husband called with the receipt number from where he deposited it from and they fixed it. Chase always has issues but unfortunately Wellsfargo isn't much better. As far as any other bank they are few and far between and I'm not trying to go searching for atm's or banks when I need to just to switch...therefore I'm stuck with this horrid service!

Honestly this bank always upsets me today it goes to show how twrrible they are as a company. They have hidden fees that are called "insufficient funds fee" this time I did have sufficient funds and unfortunately another bank tha i pay my car with didnt have the full amoubt in the time they told me they had it so they did this whole fiasco and basicaly said i owe more than that plus the insufficient fee now i even have receipts to prove when i had money and and how much i took out which is why they dissmissed the fee. It upsets me when they do that . Makes me mean want to just close the account and start all over some where else.

Insufficient account fees are only hidden to people that do not spend money they don't have in their account. To you sir/madam they are never hidden.

STOP SPENDING MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE! PROBLEM SOLVED !

Chase Bank decided, without any customer feedback, to switch all their online banking to their mobil site. The Chase mobil site is,in a word, HORRID! When i called their online banking services i was connected to Genevie, she proceeded to tell me,in a robot voice, how it was impossible to change back to the old site and that's the best she could do. She informed me she would submit my remarks to "the powers that be" I will be switching banks asap!

Refusal to accept cash deposit into my checking account

Talk about a bank with horrible customer service. I was in Fort Worth today and unfortunately left my wallet where it should not be.

I have been doing some home remodeling for a friend there and they paid me for the work I had done. It was over 2000.00 and I did not want to have to carry it around with me during the day. So I went to the local Chase bank to deposit it into my checking account. Since my check book did not have any deposit slips I got the teller to send out a deposit slip.

I filled it out with my account number on it. Sent it in and then get this response from the teller and then the branch manager. I would have to give them my drivers license before they could deposit the money into my account. ????????????

I will not go into what happened next other than to say I went into the branch and asked them why? Because of their policy on money laundering???????? You have got to be kidding me. The manager says to me I don't know you so how do I know who you are, My response was do you have my account number , Yes, then look it up, You can be anyone she said, putting money into someone else's account??????????

How do you think I got the account number I asked, I don't know she said. I showed her my check book yet that did not make any difference. Believe it or not I was told to go elsewhere If I wanted to put cash money into my account.... So people out there don't try to put cash into your CHase bank unless you can prove who you are and especially if the branch manager is on a power trip.

She gave me a copy of their policy and it states first you have to have a bank account, with your name on it before they will put cash into your account Duh, then it states you may be asked for ID. Talk about some insanity in this world. If you don't have proof of who you are don't go near Chase bank, they don't seem to know they are in the service business. Oh wait they are a National bank who does not give a shxx who their customers are.

You have to be personally accuaninted with the physical people in any branch for them to want or care to put cash into your account. This branch as I have found out is natorious for this.

Even those who give their drivers license for transactions do not get them back until they ask for them. Stay away from the Chase bank in FortWorth on the corner of Basswood and Beach +++++++++++++

Why do they need id for a deposit? You are not trying to take anything from them.

This situation with chase also happened to my boyfriend. He had to go buy money orders to deposit.

When he brought the money orders back they didn't even make him sign it or fill it out. WTF?

Damario Fqw

Don't be upset over something you didn't know. They said 'cash'.

You could've bought two money orders from a gas station or something and deposited it.

Also, no one cares about your ID. 10/10 Tellers need it to complete the transaction and that's all.

You don't know what you're talking about. Tellers do not require ID for most transactions.

I've worked in banking for over 12 years. Plus money orders cost money so unless chase wants to reimburse that cost, then that's not an option.

Guest

Wow! That's crazy.

Who would want to put moneybin someonw wlse's acoount firat of all and if its security purposes, they have cameras. I dont like chase banks nor thwir crediy cards anyways.

Damario Fqw

First, learn to spell.

Second, why would the bank go through their camera footage spending countless hours to see who is depositing into an account whenever they can just use their state issued ID?

Third, no one asked if you like the bank or their credit cards.

Solved!

Poor Customer Service

My experience is that Chase Bank pays lip service to customer service concerns. They have no intentions of actually listening to the facts, as presented to them. Despite what you say to representatives, they simply respond as they see fit with complete disregard to what you have said to them. Talking to Chase customer service representatives is like talking to a brick wall. Customer service used to mean you actually listened to customer concerns. It didn't mean you talked over the customer and simply repeated the same thing over and over again. I was treated rudely and with a complete lack of respect.

Bound Brook NJ branch on 3.12.16 Unable to make $500 cash deposit to friend's checking account. Sole teller rambling on about "money laundering." The sole teller, claiming to be the manager on duty, (overpaid & under staffed at 1:15 pm) was advised that there was no federal or state laws prohibiting transaction as I often transact business with friends having a TD Bank account. Teller advised I could then deposit a check or money order into friend's account as it is against Chase's policy. If there is so much concern about money laundering, just request a government issued photo I'd from the depositor that they could scan into database to confirm it is authentic. I realize it takes common sense & a desire to solve a problem created by a few criminally minded individuals but a corporate entity as big as Chase should look to make their policies consumer friendly.

It is illegal to scan in your ID. So common sense your way to understanding the law.

This situation is becoming increasingly more common. Best to use a credit union whenever possible. I believe Chase warned customers about this new policy a while back.

I applied for a credit card I never heard anything about it until I got a letter to me as a customer of chase. Never gave me an account number. So since I thought I was a customer of chase without ever applying for that I applied for another credit card and was turned down. Now I am told I have a secure message. I tried to read it but I was asked for my account number that I was never given. What do I do now?

COUNTERFIET MONEY

I withdrew money from ATM and turned around and tried to deposit it bank into my daughters account kept rejecting the money. I called the after hours line and I was told to go into the bank on Monday morning. I sent my daughter in and she met with the manager he took the money from her and said thank you. I called to speak to the manager and he told me that it was not up to Chase to return that money. He told me it was up to Brinks as they supplied that money for the Atm's he also said he would get back with me and has not yet contacted me. I have tried to call several times and never available. I fell as thou Chase Bank has just robbed me of that money.

I've been banking at Oceanside N.Y. Chase Bank since before it was even Chase, I became a member in Washington Mutual and then years later they turned it into Chase.. Never had a problem with the Bank Manager, he is amazing at what he does and is very sweet. But when he isn't in I rather not go in due to an incident that happened today. April 28th 2016 at 2 p.m. in the shopping center of Kohl's on Long Beach Road 516-561-****. So just from my history of how long I've been there I was completely mistreated by two females. This one female who said she was the manager of this branch and this teller. They know me so well they called my job after I left to continue their nasty crap! Now I know why they are closing that branch and hopefully not transferring them
