Screwed around by several branches of Chase Bank

On 8/10/15, my husband Jason purchased a money order in the Rowlett branch of Chase bank, located at 6602 Dalrock Road, for $409.00. This was mistakenly misplaced, so on 8/14/15 I went into the Garland Branch, located at 5225 North Garland Ave, and I was told by Richardson Patterson that they could not cancel and reissue this money order because the amount was still pending on my account. We could not get back into the bank that week due to our busy schedules, so Jason followed up in the Rowlett branch at on 8/22/15, and he was told by a teller that the bank would have to issue a new money order, and that the 1st one would be cancelled after the 2nd one was cashed by the receiver. This made no sense to me, and I was nervous that this would cause the amount of $409.00 to be taken out of our account twice. On 8/24/15, I went back into the Garland branch and spoke to Sal Xayaphanh. He was in a big hurry and he rushed me without pulling up my account. He said that he was sure that all was fine, that I would only have the money taken out once. Turns out he is the Branch Manager, the one who is supposed be in charge of the customer service, and he had none. The next day I logged in to my account, and I noticed that the $409.00 was taken out on 8/17/15 and on 8/24/15. On 8/28/15, I went back into the Garland branch & spoke to Richard Patterson again. He called someone at a Corporate Office, I am assuming, and was told that this could be fixed, but that we had to do it in the Rowlett branch. Apparently whoever put the stop payment on the 1st money order did not put the money back into our account like they should have. On 8/29/15, I went into the Rowlett branch and spent two hours with Richard & Quentin Carter, personal bankers. They finally found out that it could be done, but that Jason would have to do it because he was the person that originally purchased the money order. I told them that he worked in Allen and could not come back to Rowlett during the day. I said that we had to get this done on Monday because we needed to get the mortgage paid, and if it is not paid on 8/31/15, the bank can start the foreclosure process. Jason got a call from Quentin in the Rowlett branch on 8/31/2015, stating that Jason needed to go to the branch in Allen on McDermot. He went there and nobody knew what was going on, so I called the Rowlett branch, spoke to Richard (who has been very helpful) and found out that he was supposed to be at a location on Stacy Rd in Allen. He is an hourly employee and new at his job, so missing more than 30 minutes for lunch looks really bad. I called the branch on Stacy Rd in Allen, to confirm that the Manager Jeremy McCoy would be there, and I told the banker Paul Freeman our situation. He told me that they had all been briefed on the situation and that any personal banker could assist Jason. I said to expect a very irate person in the next 10 minutes because we have spent 5 hours dealing with this over the last week. Jason got there and the bank was NOT ready. They did not have the paperwork printed out and made him wait, again. I know that this is not your fault, but I am SO frustrated by all of the wasted hours. We are done. We switched to Chase because we were screwed over by Bank of America and Wells Fargo. We should have gone to a small bank years ago. My husband & I have worked for hotels for over a decade, and if someone had issues like this, we would have probably given them a week’s stay comped. All we have gotten is “I apologize”. This is ridiculous!

Chase Bank in Ventnor City, New Jersey - Rude and unhelpful customer service

I've had an issue with online banking for the past 4 months due to a wire transfer made to my account by my mum, as I speak its still unresolved. I couldn't get to the bank to resolve this issue immediately because I was not in the country. As soon as i got into the country I went into a branch and I was asked to call their helpline with my mum on the line. I did as directed, the worst part is the customer service person hung up on me not even considering the fact that I had my mum on the line. I've never felt this humiliated. Then I thought to myself, it has to be cos I'm not a citizen of the US that I am treated like this. This bank is not friendly to internationals and I will discourage anyone visiting or studying to use Chase bank.

Chase Bank - Debit Card Review from Atlanta, Georgia

I will never bank with this bank. I tried to deposit cash from Chases ATM into my brothe's account. I'm in NJ he's in CA and was told I can't deposit cash but I can deposit a money order or my personal check or give my debit card for them to process a bank transfer from my account???? I've never heard of such nonsense. The methods they asked for can all be forged but cash can be checked for counterfeiting while standing in front of the teller. Never will I even walk in to this bank again. I called my brother who will now look to bank elsewhere.

I want to make sure I address your review for each point.

1.

Stop spending money you don't have. It is just that easy to avoid overdraft fees.

2. You were not charged everyday you were overdrawn. So that is a lie.

You are only charged per item.

3. You are not required to have a special character it is optional. It even says it on their screens.

4. The language at the ATM is also optional...not required.

Also...not sure why this is a complaint by you?

5. Sounds like someone needs to understand before complaining.

Chase probably thought the same way. Good riddance.

Here is one of the worst experiance in my life. I went to the atm cash deposit machine at houston clear lake branch. I selected the deposit cash option, then i inserted 20bills of 20$ then the atm took the money in but displayed a message saying technical problem. When i enquired about it, the bank did not respond at all, banker Jonathan took our problem seriously and called the service personals who maintains the atm machine. They said that they were not sure about it. 400$ is a huge sum for a student like me, when asked out whether ill receive the money, they said i cant guarentee you. All the trust i had on chase bank has vanished. I hope noone gets such a disgusting banking experiance like me.

Details
Three year business relationship went up in smoke because I got upset with an investigator. Uneducated as to business laws and very high handed. Local officers tried to make it better but we are done. Sad to see such arrogance from Banks these days.

I walk into chase today to remove a large amount of money from my account. I ask the teller to remove it, she seems shocked and tells me she needs to ask her coworker if this is possible. She walks over to her co worker and notifies her of my request. She then turns to the first bank teller i was initially speaking to and says, " does she even have that amount of money in her account?". This is not the first time i have been blatantly disresepected from the employees at chase bank. This monday i will be closing my account with chase because i refuse to continue my services with them any more.

Chase visa authorized a purchase from my visa with an incorrect address, security code and expiration date. I then had to get a new card and change all my automatic payments. This is the second time this has happened in a year. How about the offer some security??? Plus it was an attempted catalog sale. How about sending the police to the address of the criminal??
