Chase, lost in the system

Chase misplaced my cashiers-check what I give them to payoff my car loan.Almost $30,000 in cashiers checks lost in the system, they don't know where is it.They said it is returned, and no one knows to who. So I still owe on the vehicle and I don't have it. They cashed one of the two checks and the second one nowhere to be find. Meantime they still charging me interest on the loan. Plus they cancelled my over payment check because I over paid due to the fact they couldn't give me the correct payoff amount. Now I have to pay a fee for something what wasn't my fault.Plus they costumer service is sucks from INDIA not like we couldn't use some jobs here in the states.I guess or stimulus money has to go somewhere. I say every body should close they accounts and take it to your local credit union.

I have been dealing with Chase Home Finance and it's has been a living ***. I sent a US Postal money order, now that money has never been credited to my account.

US Postal service has given a copy of the money order cashed by them and thier Research Dept refuse to acknowlege they have it. So every month my bill is showing one month late and now my credit score is whacked because of their incompetence.

Chase screwed my credit report

I found out today that my WaMu, now Chase credit card account had been closed without my notification because they deemed me a risk. What risk? I only had the card for 23 months, not 24, the research dept. found no further credit history on me (I've had credit for the past 10 years) and the credit line was too low. That makes me a risk... and of course, while I'm happily living at home with my folks in order to save money to purchase a house, Chase closes the account negatively affecting my credit report. Yay Chase!

I can even get that ……../// they send me letter saying they will send the money with in five business day….

It has been 10 days now… the worst bank ever.

I had not have any problem with WaMu . :(

Guest

Chase credit card did the same thing with me. The close my account with out informing me.

They build the finance and late fees charge on my 1.00 (ONE) dollar balance.

I had this card to 16 years and after the long relationship they build over 100 dollars on my account and It took me 5 month to clean my account with them but my credit history which was clean (last 16 year, no late, no finance charges) screw by CHASE. YOU SHOULD THINK TEN TIMES BEFORE GOING TO BANK WITH CHASE.

DO NOT BANK WITH CHASE.....

Sounds like this is happening to alot of people. Big corporations doing their thing.

Do NOT get a Chase Southewest Rapid Rewards Card!

It costs $16,000 to get a free ticket, then you can't even go when you want! I was on the phone with a ticket agent the SECOND flights opened up, only to be told there were none.

Southwest Visa lies and says there are no blackout dates, but there are - and they pre-sell free tickets to travel agents according to the agent I spoke to. So what good is the card?

And customer service at Southwest insults you, and the rep I talked to as much as admitted they don't care if they want your business or not. DO NOT EVER GET THIS CARD - IT IS A TOTAL RIPOFF!

I purchased the card under a deal of 2 free flights when you spend 2000 dollars in the first 3 months. After not recieving the points for this promotion.

I called chase and they said i was only getting 1 flight at the time when I signed up. Supposely when you click on the tab for the promotion of 2 flights, they open a new window and you send your application off. Then they sent you an email saying you were approved and you just been rewarded 1 flight. Thanks for your business.

HAH!!!! Jerks!

Tavi Nld

Ordered a Southwest Chase bankcard. Lit.

enclosed said "use the enclosed checks for EXTRA miles". The lying pigs at Chase bank not only did not give me extra miles, but gave NO miles and an $80.00 extra charge.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CHASE BANK! THEY ARE LYING THIEVES.

Guest

We got 50,000 free points for signing up and my disabled son went on 3 round trip flights for $10 each this year! Know what you are doing!

Leisa Bfi

My advice to ANYONE who uses any credit card is to read the fine print. We always seem to negate to do that but READ THE FINE PRINT!

It says in plain view that it takes 24,960 Rapid Rewards points for a bleeping R/T ticket. No one gives anything away for free anymore. Then it further states it is all contingent on blah-blah but it does state that. A rip-off?

Yes, I agree, but it is up to us, as consumers, to STOP doing biz with these *** artists and to find the best deal possible.

Try Capital One ...heard the were much better but research it! Good luck and shop smart and cancel these cards if they aren't making the grade!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Leisa Bfi

I wouldn't trust Capital One either as they are bad credit credit card company and they will start you off at a low number and they charge rediculous interest and if you get injured and sign the release that goes with your papers they do not honor it so be careful who you choose as a credit card company all companies have their risks just be smart

Guest

THis program is a Fraud!!! Stay away from the Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Card.

I have 3 roundtrip tickets & I am

trying to book my fligth in Mid June.

The problem they are black out 5 days in a row.

They provide no realistic way to use your tickets unless your going for two weeks or more & retired. MY ADVICE STAY AWAY.

Guest

Not sure if I agree. Definitely didn't have the same experience.

Yes, it costs basically $16K to get our free ticket. However, I've used my free tickets - twice and had no problem getting the location or dates.

As a matter of fact, I made the arrangements through the web. So I'm not sure why you are on the phone with the agent.

WAMU & Chase Bank's Rude Welcome

I opened up a WAMU account 2 years ago. This account has been in good standing, payments always made on time, always paid more than the amount due. I just paid $2700 and 1 week later my account is closed with no notice. Chase said it was based on my credit report and they do not consider my prior payment history with WAMU. I had a Chpt 13 BK in 2002 and have not had a late pay since. I'm in disbelief they would just cancel me for no reason. Any recommendation of how I can file a grievance?

since the switch they keep putting holds on all my deposits, sometimes for more than a business week. This clearly violates the Expedited Funds Availability Act.

It is impossible to come up with personal budget, when they withold money for random amounts of time.

They are just skimming off the interest before they clear the deposits. I'm just waiting for the next one to clear and I am leaving that circus behind.

Guest

I am in the same boat with you guys. Our account was transferred from Wamu to Chase and then promptly closed with no warning and I only found out after attempting to use the card for a transaction which was declined.

After contacting them, they spouted off some generic *** about how our credit scores were checked and the balance to debt ratio was too high. We have always paid more than the minimum AND on time. It's total ***. But you know, they really did me a favor in my opinion, now I can be rid of those leeches forever.

I won't touch anything related to Chase with a ten foot pole ever again. Chase gets a big fat middle finger from me :)

Guest

I had the exact same problem. I had an account with WaMu in excellent standing and it was closed without notice.

My credit card was not even expired yet. The only way I found out was that I used my card at a restaurant and it came back rejected. I did not undersatnd since I still had a ton of available balance left. I contacted Chase and was told my account was terminated.

I don't know what my recourse is? I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Guest

As a former Wamu customer and now a former Chase customer, I just want to know whats wrong with them. They went so far as to issue me a new Chase card as my Wamu card is expiring next month.

When I called to activate the card, I was told the account was closed.

i spoke to some dimwitted cutomer service rep., probably in India, and all he said was I would be getting a letter. I'm not holding my breath.

Chase orders transactions to make checks bounce

Recently had to switch my long-time checking account from WAMU (who I loved) to Chase, when they took over WAMU. Chase, like most of the other large banks, orders your transactions from largest to smallest so there is a greater likelihood that you will have insufficient funds fees. They charged me a $34 NSF fee for a negative balance of $3.24. Because of THEIR charge, there was then another charge of $34.00 for insuffient funds. A cost of $68.00 for being short $3.00 (due to the way they ordered checks). I'm closing out my account tomorrow. BEWARE!!!

this happened to me too. they charge 10 dollars fro transfering money from savings to checking and when they charge the 10 dollars, it over drew my account so my account was -3.00 dollars.

they then went ahead and charged me 35 dollars for nsf. what kind of business is this.

Guest

If you had enough money in you account to cover the checks you wrote, it wouldn't matter what order the cancled checks.

Chester P You

EVERY bank now does this. It is common practice.

The days of balancing the old check book are long gone. Your account online is now your checkbook. And yes, this is done on purpose to make as much money as possible whether you can afford it or not. I repeat.

EVERY bank now does this. I can't urge people enough to stick with Credit Unions. These banks are nothing more than money eating machines with no regards to human life what so ever. Wait til Bank of America *** you over with thier keep the change program.

They will send your account into the neg so that they may transfer your change into your savings then charge you a $10.00 transfer fee AND a $35.00 NSF fee which THEY created by shifting money to your savings. Keep your money in jars or buy gold.

Its the only way to really know you are in control of your funds. Banks are here to suck you dry, not help you.

Mark Hjy

I just called their main number, raised *** and after a while they reimbursed me. 1-80*-***-****.

Screaming and yelling works wonders. I am whole again!

Never do business with CHASE again.

I had two credit cards with Chase bank. They raised the interest rate to 24% on one and 25% on the other. Never has a late payment or overlimit. This was in February. In July I get a letter stating they are closing both credit card accounts. One has a $14,000. limit with a balance of $9,000. the other has a $7,000 limit with no balance. I HAD two checking accounts and two savings accounts with them and was getting ready to switch my business account over to Chase. Speaking to customer service was like usless, the most rude and inconsiderate people I have ever spoken too.

Time waste on Comcheck deposits

I have been a Chase customer long time ago but due that they were not handling properly my CD's, Checking and Loan accounts decided to move to Bank One, It was great until Chase adquiered it and then start my issues again. The drop that overflow the glass was the lack of information on some of their employees on how to handle Comchecks, or any check when you are depositing a check to your account SHOULD NOT BE NECCESSARY TO REQUEST YOUR ID due that they have all your information, but they let me stay in the drive thru for at least five minutes (when they where no body else in the drive thru lines) to let me know that I need to show my ID, told them that it was not necessary but they insist, I asked them to call a supervisor but they did not and still insisting in my ID, finnally I asked the to return the document. Then I went inside and deposit the check with no problem, I asked to talk with a supervisor and complain but the supervisor said that I was wrong, all I wanted was an "I am sorry" but no

Thats the reason I don't deal with them . They have no clue on what to do. I would school them on the issue but they dont listen.

Guest

I do not understand why showing id is an issue? Are you legally here?

I have been a chase customer for years but have never had that sort of issue.

Normally they ask either for ID or your debit card and have you put in your pin on the pad inside.

Chase Bank is unethical and should not be trusted.

I have decided to close all my buisness dealings with Chase. They just dinged me on a large credit balance with fees and raised interest rates. I always pay my bills on time and always more than the minimum payment as well. They show my last bill being two days late even though it was sent via the USPS Seven days ahead of the due date. In checking with the Postal service they informed me that almost all of the first class mail within the US is delivered within five days. I think Chase held on to the check for two days without posting it to my bank account. This practice is not legal but as a customer I have no way to prove this. The amount due was on one of special promotions that Chase ran sometime back at a low interest rate. So with the present banking climate they are doing anything to collect high interest rates and fees whenever possible. It is time to support the small local banks or join the credit unions for better service. As Elizebeth Warren says we are not here to serve the Banks. I am going to advice my family members relatives and friends not to do buisness with CHASE who needs them?

Welcome to the world of big finance. Criminals in suits, these "gentlemen" can do more damage to you financially than any self respecting gangsta'. The gangsta' is limited to what you have, the bank can steal all you will ever have.

Guest

Chase closed my account after 17 years because of inactivity. They also conned me into using their protection service and I cancelled it but they kept charging me and I refused to pay it since they kept saying it would be reversed, but they didn't reverse it until 60 days later, then they wrote off $7.99 and closed my account. For $7.99 that I didn't owe they threw away a 17-year customer.

WAMU becomes CHASE and no more FREE ATM widrawals

As you guys know WAMU became CHASE this year. One thing I loved about WAMU was FREE ATM use, which made them special since the other banks charge $2.00 per ATM usage. Also, WAMU was different with its Teller services, no charge either. Other banks allowed you to see a teller once or a couple a times in a month or they add a charge into your account for services. SO I AM PISSED THAT CHASE will Start their ATM fee of $2.00 on OCTOBER 2009...I am moving to another bank...sooon...any suggestions or comments..? I miss the WAMU logo already...

try your local credit union or if you or a family member can join USAA out of San Antonio, TX. membership is usually for current military, retired military and immediately family members. ATM fees, up to some limit I believe $25 is refundable per month, even overseas fees.

Guest

Try Liberty Bank. That's who we have and all atm fees are refundable at the end of the month. they credit your account.

Chase Practices

My interest rate was increased from 5% to 29.99% in a span of 6 months. 4 increases, the largest of which was the month after I called them for help and informed them I was laid off from my job. The last increase was due to minimum not being met since I was not informed of the last increase and sent the prior months minimum. I called and was initially offered a settlement of 75% but was told the payment was due. I was also told that anyone in account services could approve the 75%. I agreed to make the payment and called back only to be told the only settlement available was 95% and that I was "misinformed". I told them "lied to" was a better description. We have excellent credit and a good payment history so chase decided when they found out I was unemployed to squeeze me for everything they could. Since then I have gotten the phone transfer game and have requested a review of the transcript of the 75% phone call. When I called back, they had reviewed a later call, of course. I am through with chase. I have had this card for 11 years with a clean payment history. They have succeeded in extorting what they can from me. I advise anyone with a chase account to pay it off and close it quickly or they will do it to you.

Renig on acontractural low interest rate until balance paid off

Took a transfer offer of 4.9% until balance paid off, account balance $6,000.00. 6 months ago chase sent letter, % rate was going to 7.9% or I was paying an extra fee of 10.00 or 15.00 dollars each month and raised my monthly payment from 160.00 to 320.00. I recieved an offer from wells fargo bank, they would remove 1% from my mortgage interest rate to off set the economic dysfunction of this country(due to the current greed induced sickness of those individuals who have been in power in the last 7yrs). And we bailed chase out? chase should be dissolved.

Chase Credit Card - Unfair

Recently, I called in a payment to my Chase credit card (was WaMu). I agreed to pay the $15 dollar fee since I needed the funds applied right away so that I could purchase an airline ticket. Upon return from the trip the ticket was purchased for, I checked all of my accounts to make sure that I'm up to date on everything. To my surprise, my Chase account was over the limit. I was extremely confused, as the only charge on the card was for the airline ticket and I made a large enough payment to cover the charge, plus a little extra. When I called in, I was told that the card was over the limit because the tele-check payment made was returned by my bank. I checked my bank account and indeed the funds I'd reserved for that payment had not been drawn; however, they were there. The rep that I talked to then realized that the checking account number that was previously entered was missing a digit. He apologized, said that the returned check fee, the overlimit fee, and even the $15 expedite fee would be refunded... he completely sided with me and admitted that the error was on their end. Prior to hanging up, he asked that I hold on for a moment so that he can get final say from his supervisor. And what do you know... the supervisor didn't approve it! How ludicrous is that - I dictated the checking account number just as it was written on my check and I received confirmation for the payment. The supervisors argument was that the rep who accepted payment dictated back the account number and I consented. Well yeah! The dude had such terrible English, he said the account number as it was, or at least I heard it (I thought) correctly. I conceded my argument and wrote Chase a nice little letter. The reply I received was generic and did not even address the issue... instead they advised me to talk to my bank. Out of principle... I don't want to pay the almost $100 in fees! Mother's day is around the corner, money is tight, and I really could have found a better use for the $100 bucks. Honestly, I just don't see how I am at fault. It is unfair for them to make gain off of me due to an incompetent employee. Can someone please suggest an action of recourse. Corporate America makes me wanna vomit...

Do Not Get A Chase Bank Account

Chase Bank is the worst bank that I have ever banked with. Wells Fargo treated me better for five years. Why did I switch? I got married and my husband and I opened a joint account and thought a new bank would fit our new life. They offered $100 to us if we sign up. Who would turn down a $100? Now, we regret it. They are a heartless financial institutions that plays mind and number games. Our account flunctuates by the day. If we didn't keep a check book we would be worst off. Money goes in and out as they please and they blame it all on the vendors. I never had this problem with Wells Fargo. I am dissapointed JP Morgan!!! And the lack of customer service makes this bank more horrible.

Chase Bank stole my savings

I opened a savings account with Chase Bank on 3/17/09. I started the account with a savings of $633. On 4/21 I made another deposit of $69.14. Went on line to check my balance and it was down to $533. They have transferred funds from my account when I have no other account to transfer them to! Chase bank has stolen money from me in only slightly more than 60 days of business with them. Stay away from Chase bank if you wish to have a nest egg. They will rob you of your hard earned savings.

I agree.

Chase bank is not a operating bank governed by US laws and regulations. It is a bank that is being operated by Sharia law.

And they can do whatever they want to do with your money and get away with it and your politicians are in bed with them to still your hard earned money? So don't be surprised look at strait to your white house all the tifs and criminal elements are running for an office.

I had an account with Chase Bank over 3 years ago which has been closed over 2 years. I am with another bank and my social security check got direct deposited into Chase Bank!

I don't have an account with them anymore and I didn't change my info with Social Security to have them Direct Deposit my disability check into that bank. I went to use my debit card from my bank which isn't Chase and I have ZERO money. Now Social Security tells me I changed the info and had it put in Chase and Chase says it's not there. WHERE'S MY MONEY....

This is unreal how they can go and STEAL a disability check from an old customer. On my way to Police Dept to file Theft/Fraud complaint.

Guest

CHASE is STEALING former WAMU Free Checking customers money in the amount of $10 FOR A NEW SERVICE FEE. chase refuses to be bound to our written AGREEMENTS.

CHASE has simply just CHANGED the NAME of our accounts and ILLEGALLY CHANGED the TERMS of our existing written AGREEMENTS.

CHASE REFUSES to honor written agreements. If you have ANY WRITTEN AGREEMENT with CHASE, DO NOT TRUST CHASE, THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR TERMS AND TELL YOU 'WHAT YA GONNA DO ABOUT IT'?

Guest

Chase withdrew $446 from my checking account a couple of months after I opened an account with them. The transaction said it was a withdrawal to another account.

I called them and they were outright rude, verbally abusive, gave me the run around, refused to transfer me to a supervisor, and stated that I would not get my money back. They withdrew the money to supposedly satisfy a negative balance from a closed Washington Mutual account from 2007. I was unemployed and have a family with two young children, now with only $21 in the bank.

Do not fall for Chase and their incentives to open accounts with them, this company is greedy, unsympathetic, and downright unprofessional. I will be closing my account with them as soon as possible.

Guest

Banks are great at stealing our *** money.

These are the banks that have stolen from me and the amounts.

TotalBank $110

Bank of America $2500 Isn't that Grand theft???

Chase bank $70

This is why I hate *** banks.

Guest

I opened my account with Washington Mutual in the year 2000. When Washington Mutual became Chase, Chase started withdrawing money from my Checking Account to another account that was not mine.

I called to see what was going on, and apparently someone with a similar name closed a negative account in 2008. I told them that it wasn't my account. I made a police report and completed all the paperwork that they requested. Still they continued to withdraw money from my account.

I'm really mad, they keep giving me the run-around and no one seems to know anything.

I'm closing my accounts and moving to a different bank. :( :(

Guest

I actually have a horrible story with chase. I deposited two checks in their atm one for $3.52 and the other for $1,470.

When I put the checks into their atm to deposit, the atm read "Error". So I called the representative and told them about this and they credited my account. One month later they took the money away from my account and claim "we need proof of those checks" . My reply is how do you expect me to show you proof when your atm took my checks.

After speaking to them for 45 minutes and to head of the Claims department, they still did not give me back my money. Now my account is at a negative and I do not have money to pay for college. I tried explaining this to them and they did not care. Their response "we wish there was something we can do".

There is something you can do, stop being so greedy and closed minded. All they care about is reading whatever is on their screen. I am extremely upset by this. If anyone is out there and would not mind helping me out can you please donate some money back to me until I get this situation settled.

This is my last year of college and I am just trying to graduate. If possible please send a paypal payment to mentalvisions@***.com.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Chase Bank loves to chase.

Chase bank is the worst. They charge outragious fees, alter due dates to collect late fees, make agreements with you but don't keep them. My line of credit was only $1000 but my bill, even with all my payments is close to $3000 now. I tried to get a payoff balance from them to get rid of them but they won't settle. They now have MRS trying to do collections for them and they call constantly trying to make a deal for five years of high monthly payments. I'm sure at the end of five years there would still be a balance due. Borrowing from a loan shark would be cheaper!!! I would like to see this bank go under and no government bail out.
