Chase Bank in New York, New York - Please don't bank with Chase

Chase is the worst bank ever! I received a promotion code in January 2010 to open an account with Chase to receive $125. I did my part (direct deposit, five debit transactions) and waiting patiently to receive the bonus. Fast forward to March 2010 and Im STILL waiting for it. I had to call SEVERAL times to get half-*ss answers as to why they didn't give me the bonus. The usual CSR answers implied that it was my fault and I did something wrong. Fortunately after many calls, I received the bonus...well part of it. They immediately took out $35 because they did not have my SSN. How could I open the account without my SSN? The next excuse was that they did not have my signature card. Really...I didn't sign the signature card? The piece of paper I signed when I went to the branch and asked for it?! After I explained that I did all of those things, I was told that I have to wait until I receive the W9 in the mail and take it to a branch. Its only been two months since I have had an account with Chase and I cant stand them. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Please don't hesitate to do the same.

Chase Bank in Dallas, Texas - Unprofessional!!!! Bad idea to open an acct with CHASE!!

OK, here's my story with CHASE bank. When i first opened my account, i was helped my the most courteous personal banker ever. Everything seemed fine until i received a letter from them threatening to close my account if i didn't provide a letter from the social security AD to verify my SS#. I thought to myself well ok, i will go ahead and come in and give them a copy of my social security card. Next day im at the branch where i opened my acct. One of the personal bankers along with the manager helped me; they made a copy of my ss card and they faxed it over to what this other department. Minutes later they said ok, Miss Ada we faxed over the copy now, everything is clear you can go about your business. 3 days passed, i used my card with no problems. Until the 4th day came. Im at the beauty salon getting my eyebrows done thinking i was able to pay with my debit card. After im done its time to swipe the *** thing,& it comes out as declined..!!! im thinking how could this be? i have over $500 in my acct. well it turns out these idiots have put a restriction on my acct w/out notifying me at all!! all because the copy of my ss card wasn't good enough for them. I get on the phone immediately w/this guy who was no idea was going on & barely speaks any ENGLISH & his telling me this until now. WHY IN the world would they not tell me that 3-4 days ago when i was at their branch. At this point i feel betrayed and played by these people who have decided to put a restriction on my OWN *** MONEY!! i wish they would have notified me before to avoid the embarrassment. GRRRR!!! ok, well the story goes on and one w/ not a happy ending. Now, im in the process of closing my acct, NOT MY CHOICE but bcuz they need more documentation from me. i already provide them w/a W2 a letter from the ss AD and they still need me to bring a stub from work showing all the #'s of my social. idk what else to do? OH & they still have the nerves to tell me they're charging me $25 to close my acct... DO NOT BANK W/SUCH incompetent/RUDE/unprofessional people. CHASE BAD CHASE!!

Chase Bank Account

Chase Bank in San Francisco, California - Raised my interest rate to 24%

i was a washington mutual customer. had a 0% interest rate on my account. charged business things, always paid on time, always paid more then the required amount. they switched to chase bank- interest rate went up to 10%, okay, things are different now, dealt with it, then they raised my interest rate to 19%, couldn't pay off the balance and close my account because i didn't have the money. now they raised my rate to 24%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%. I still have never been late- never. i have always paid more then the amount requred- always. i called and asked why and they said they mailed me a statement (i never got) stating i could "opt out" and close my account and keep my 19% interest rate. i never got a letter and i really didn't want to keep my 19% interest rate. so, now i am paying 24% on a $10,000.00 balance and their answer to me was that we are in hard economic times and that i should have accepted my previous terms (that i never got). i hate chase bank.

:( You are not alone. I originally had about a 15% interest rate with Wamu.

Chase initially raised it to 23% and now 27.9%!!! I have NEVER defaulted either. It was funny that the first thing out of the customer service rep's mouth when I called to get lower interest was something on the lines of you must have defaulted.

She then proceeded to tell me there was nothing she could do and that I too was given a notice of the increased interest rate which was completely untrue! Thank God I am almost done paying them off!

Chase Bank in Pensacola, Florida - Chase Customer Service Dept. SUCKS!!

We have always paid our mortgage ahead of time by several months every year. Chases Customer Service Dept. sucks & so does their Accounts Receivable Dept.; because they have applied our monthly payments several times incorrectly. We wish they would hire people who could actually do their job correctly. So we would not have to spend our valuable time assiting them to apply payments correctly. Throughout the past twenty four years we have bought three different houses all in different states; & have never had any problems with any other mortgage company; except for Chase. We wish they would train their employees better; because every time we contacted them; they would give us a different lie to try to explain why our mortgage payment was applied incorrectly. I have some advice; try to avoid doing any business with CHASE!!

Chase customer service has no idea how to properly handle closing the account of a deceased customer. They gave me wrong information that I followed and the bank manager didn't know any better either.

When he called "the Legal Department" we were told that everything that customer service had given us the wrong information.

These people are not competent. Bank elsewhere.

Chase Bank in Sunnyvale, California - Chase Overdrafts are BULL

Set up my "funds are getting low" alerts on my cell phone and email - I would get alerts on days that I never used my card, saying I had insufficient funds, yet when I went to check my account online, to my surprise I still had money! Tell me why a week later, I was hit by 11 insufficient fee charges, never being alerted ONCE that my account was getting low on funds! I make 200 dollars every 2 weeks, and am a student. I can't afford $333 dollars in overdrafts just because of a bank error. WTF, CHASE!?!? I want WAMU back!

Yep! Same thing for me!

They posted a non-descript shady fee of $6 that causes my acct to be overdrawn (which enables them to charfe $66) that is called a Failed Payment Fee which noone seemed to know what that was after I went to the branch and waited for an hour for an answer and got 3 different answers just to find out the possibilities of what that might be.

Never in my life I wanted to sue someone so bad!

I opened an account with Chase in August 2009 after it took over Washington Mutual branches, mainly because its overwhelming ads claiming good services. My personal experiences, however, proofed the contrary. I have checking, CD, and investment accounts with Chase. ...

Chase bank does more then delay account deposits. they also wipe you out clean then make you pay overdraft fees and etc. then rack it up so high that you can't pay them back so they ruin your credit and make your life *** by harassing phone calls from collection agencies.

Chase Bank in Barnegat Township, New Jersey - Chase Froze my Heloc w/out Notification

Wednesday, March 10th I opened my mail after a long day on the job. Letter from Chase stating that as of March 5th, 2010. I would no longer be able to draw on my home equity line of credit which still has 17k open on a line of 25k. The envelope was post marked on March 8th, 2010. The reasoning was that my homes worth had deflated and since I have my mortgage and heloc with them, the suspended me from utilitizing any funds in the line. Now, I pay ontime each month, and often pay more than is required. They state house is worth 147k......when less than 5 years ago it was worth 200k. However total debt on both loans less than 115. As soon as possible will refi with another lender.

Chase Bank in Dallas, Texas - Bank modification

If anyone is looking to do a bank modification and wants to know what the formula is then go to http://makinghomeaffordable.gov/eligibility.html . Essentially you have to take your monthly house payment plus homeowners insurance and property taxes (if not escrowed) plus homeowner association fees and divide it by your gross monthly income. The result is your housing ratio (the amount of money it takes you to keep up the house). No utilities are not included because YOU control that expense. PRIMARY MORTGAGE PAYMENT 2ND MORTGAGE PAYMENT (HELOC) + HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE (MONTHLY-ANNUAL/12) *IF NOT ESCROW HOMEOWNERS'S ASSOCIATION FEE PROPERTY TAXES *IF NOT ESCROW ----------------------------------- TOTAL HOUSING EXPENSE TOTAL HOUSING EXPENSE / TOTAL GROSS MONTHLY INCOME =TARGET HOUSING RATIO TOTAL HOUSING RATIO IS OVER 31% MIGHT BE ELIGIBLE FOR MODIFICATION If your housing is 31% or more of your gross income then your might be eligible for a modification if not then you might have to ask for other alternatives that your lender might have. DO NOT BELIEVE YOUR MORTGAGE (1st or 2nd)COMPANY IS NOT GOING TO FORECLOSE AND DONT WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE A FORECLOSURE DATE!!!!!!!!!

stop trying to modify the loan by yourself and hire an attorney, it's a legal process

include all income coming into the household, if dont include all your income and try for a modification you have a good chance of being denied

Chase Bank in Sacramento, California - Chase Home Finance lied and lied....

Last year I lost my job and all child support due to the economy. I'm not one of these people that expects or demands "help" or a loan mod from their lender, in my case Chase. Even though our taxpayer dollars "helped" them in their time of need : ) Upon reaching out to Chase over a year ago to let them know of my situation I was instructed to apply for a loan mod. That was over a year ago.It has been a year of ***. They tell you one thing then the next person you talk to tells you something polar opposite. Often on the same day. They have lied to me on the phone, promised to make return phone calls that never ever happened, etc. etc. I have now applied 6 times for a loan mod....just following their directions...they lost our paperwork 2 times and...I'm qualified, not qualified -back n forth...no paperwork, then they said to apply for the HAMP program (for which we qualify for), then they said they don't participate with govt. programs...huh???. Rudeness, unprofessionalism, inconsistencies and we've gotten nowhere in over a year. I'm done...wish I would of walked away last year and not put my family through this. The end result is the same...I will lose my home, I just wouldn't of gone through the emotional, financial and physical *** for over the past year, I would of respectfully given them back the keys. Chase get your act together....Oh yeah...you don't have to! No one is holding you accountable for anything...including the money, that us tax payers earned to "help" you out so you could triple your lobbying efforts, give yourselves millions in bonuses and NOT help the very people that "helped" you. Disgusting.

Just so you know almost all mortgage co have stopped the hamp program (govt modification) as i a waste of time and does not help. Also should know all money that was loaned out to these finance co had to be paid back, they were only loans just like you get and have been paid back, now its your turn to pay yours back.
